Ika Abravanel Appointed Executive Vice President Teva Corporate in Israel and Global Community Alliances
Mark Sabag Appointed Group Executive Vice President Human Resources
JERUSALEM, August 5th, 2013 – Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA) announced today the appointments of Mr. Ika Abravanel as Executive Vice President Teva Corporate in Israel and Global Community Alliances, effective September 1, 2013, and of Mark Sabag as Group Executive Vice President Human Resources, effective August 11, 2013. Messrs. Abravanel and Sabag will serve on Teva’s Executive Committee and report to Dr. Jeremy Levin, Teva's President and CEO.
Ika Abravanel, formerly Group Executive Vice President, HR and Chief Integration Officer, will lead all community relations in Israel and drive global social responsibility efforts. Mr. Abravanel joined Teva in 2007 as Corporate Vice President, Human Resources, and in 2009 he became also Teva’s Chief Integration Officer. In January 2013, he was appointed Co-Chairman of the steering committee of PGT (Procter & Gamble-Teva partnership) on behalf of Teva, a position he will continue to hold in his new role. Prior to joining Teva, Mr. Abravanel was Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Bezeq Israel Telecommunications Co. Ltd. from 2005 to 2007 and Senior Vice President of Operations & Customer Service at Pelephone Communications Ltd. from 2001 to 2005.
Mark Sabag, formerly Global Deputy of Executive Vice President, Human Resources, will lead Teva's Human Resources function, optimizing the Company's global people practices and building core capabilities for high performance. Mr. Sabag joined Teva in 2006 as Vice President Corporate Human Capital Group, and soon after was appointed also Vice President Human Resources for Teva's International Group. In this function, he led the Human Resources aspects of Teva's M&A and alliance management efforts around the world, including post-merger integrations and restructuring as well as significant business development activities in emerging markets. In late 2012 he was appointed Global Deputy of Executive Vice President, Human Resources. Prior to joining Teva, he held senior Human Resources roles with Intel Corporation.
